A ferry departs every 30 minutes from the Mukilteo Ferry Dock, just 24 miles north of Seattle. To catch it, follow the Mukilteo/Whidbey Island exit off I-5 (#189/Hwy 525) straight to the ferry dock. After a 20-minute ride, the ferry arrives at Clinton on south Whidbey Island, and the Mainland vanishes as you drive to your destination.
Winter 2007-2008 Message From Coupeville Mayor Nancy Conard:
Senator Haugen, Island Transit, and the Town worked with WSF to get some more relief for the Coupeville side of the Keystone-Pt Townsend ferry problem. I think most folks now know that we will have a shuttle service available to meet the incoming ferries from Pt. Townsend and provide direct transportation to downtown Coupeville. Island Transit is beginning the service today, the schedule will be worked out to meet ferries during the hours that the stores are open, roughly 10-5. The shuttle will drop off and pick up in front of the museum. Island Transit is making signs for the museum and for the ferry terminal. They also are dressing up the shuttle as a Christmas bus!
WSF will be making a press release early this afternoon. I expect them to announce this new shuttle service. I also expect them to stress that passengers can take the ferry from Seattle to Port Townsend and then take a ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville and be picked up at the terminal and brought downtown and returned later.
WSF also plans to run ads in major papers to explain “how to get here from there” and to include the schedules for all the connections. They also have made arrangements for an article in the Sunday paper.
I’ll continue to provide information as I have it, and welcome any constructive suggestions to support local businesses.

Town of Coupeville
