back to things to do
Fishing of all kinds is plentiful on the islands. The fresh water lakes are stocked frequently with trout at Whidbey's Deer Lake, Lone Lake, Goss Lake and Cranberry Lake. Catch and release fly-fishing for trout at Pass Lake is a popular fishing spot for serious fly fisherman with inner tubes and waders.

From the shore and at the dock at Cornet Bay, catches include cod, flounder, sole, pile perch, and up to 100 pound skate. From the shore at Possession Beach salmon, cod, flounder, and sole can be caught in the summer through late Fall. During Winter, Steelhead runs you can catch these prize fish from shore at Bush Point Road end and Lagoon Point Road end. From various spots along Admiralty Bay, Keystone Spit and Penn Cove, similar shoreline opportunities are available.

Don't forget that all fishing requires state licenses, and is only legal during specific seasons. Licenses and bait are available across both islands, in all communities.
