Family-friendly walks will lead participants through a fascinating array of habitats. Led by WSU Beach Watchers volunteers, along with a biologist with the Stillaguamish tribe who specializes in outreach education, you’ll be able to explore the former salt marsh and learn about the upper tideline area, see where the beavers have gnawed down trees to begin their dam building process, and walk through the aptly-named Hobbit Trail. Then head to the shoreline, where WSU Beach Watchers will show you what marine species live there.
This workshop is sponsored by the WSU Beach Watchers in Island County, Island County Shore Stewards, and the Stillaguamish Tribe.
