Spring is on its way to Meerkerk Gardens, bringing with it the enlivening visits of schoolchildren experiencing a Meerkerk Botany Adventure. Meerkerk Gardens is seeking volunteers to assist with our field trip programs. The only requirement is for you to have an enthusiasm for nature and children. Tours match your ability and schedule and are arranged for small groups of 8-10. Training is scheduled for April 20-22nd at the Gardens. You needn't be an expert in horticulture or education. As a Botany Adventure Guide, you will have an incredible opportunity to help shape the next generation in their appreciation of our environment and the global challenges we face. One of Whidbey Island's favorite chefs, Gordon, from the popular Freeland restaurant, Gordon's on Blueberry Hill, will be a guest chef at the Greenbank Farm Sunday Farmer's Market.
Gordon thrilled his audience last year- undaunted in the pouring rain – as he demonstrated cooking with local greens grown on the farm and locally raised beef. This year’s menu will again include fresh organic produce raised on the Greenbank Farm. The cooking demonstration will start at noon, and will move under cover if rain once again threatens the program.

In August, Artworks Gallery features the warm and vibrant landscape and native animal paintings of Rainy Lindell and the equally earthy elemental wood and metal sculptures of Dan Freeman.
Artworks Gallery is a co-operative enterprise of Whidbey Island artists working in a variety of media. At Artworks Gallery you’ll find a lively and inviting display that changes on a regular basis. Art in the gallery is the product of juried selection and is produced at the highest standards of quality -- the primary reason that Artworks has attracted a loyal, and geographically diverse, customer base.
Visitors to Greenbank Farm will find a wonderful combination of good art (multiple galleries), good food (an excellent café and cheese shop) and good wine (a fun tasting room/retail shop), all in a setting of exceptional scenic beauty.

The Rob Schouten Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new magic realist paintings by Seattle artist William Fahey. "I delight in painting impossible things with an earth-bound naturalism," says Fahey, "My work expresses my personal pursuit of meaning through mythology, world religion and the pre-history of humankind. There I have found rich symbols with which to work."
"Animals often appear in my images," Fahey continues, "They speak of the earth, spirit, power, as well as our own human nature and position in the natural world. In my work, I'm trying to point to the unseen, to create a sense of newness and mystery, to hint at deep experiences and encourage their exploration."
