Welcome to rural life on Whidbey and Camano islands! You are here to enjoy the authentic island life style and shed the pressures and stresses of life back home. Island time is part of island culture and is the key to your relaxation; the pace is slower; gentle and nurturing. Prior to your visit, there are some important things you must know. by RoseAnn Alspektor

Dining & Pubs

Our Whidbey and Camano island culture attracts entrepreneurs who take time away from work to enjoy the local beauty and festivities happening year-round. Many fine dining restaurants close by 9PM. Fortunately, Whidbey Island is blessed with a vibrant night spot in Oak HArbor where you may still enjoy dinner after 9PM at a few eateries and even visit their local casino. Oak Harbor Hotels offer quaint bars and our two classic pubs are open late: Toby's in Coupeville and Cozy's in Clinton. Edgecliff restaurant in Langley offers entertainment after 9 p.m. Fridays are hopping there with dancing, as China City in Freeland and Hong Kong Gardens in Clinton becomes the karaoke spots on Saturday nights.

Entertainment

The islands are also rich in performing arts and also have several first-run movie entertainments. There are four year-round live theatres on both Whidbey and Camano. In Langley, the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts is a state of the art facility with regular performances and Whidbey Island Children's Theater spotlights our talented local youth. In Oak Harbor, you can catch a play at the Whidbey Playhouse, a charming old church renovated into a playhouse.

Camano Island's Camwood Players offers a variety of productions throughout the year, dinner theater available with some shows.
